1920s
In 1920, Cujiro Matsuda founded Toyo Cork Kogyo Co., Ltd.


1930s
In 1931, the three-wheeled Mazdago truck was launched.
In 1934, the first Mazda car logo was created. The company is named after the Zoroastrian god of wisdom, Ahura Mazda, who connects man with nature and other gods. The new name also harmonizes with the surname of the company founder.


1960s
In 1960, the first two-door Mazda R360 Coupe passenger car leaves the assembly line

In 1967, Mazda launched the Mazda Cosmo Sports 110S, the first car with a rotor engine. From that time, the rotor engine began to play an important role in the history of our company.

1970s

1980s

In 1985, the Mazda B-series pickup truck was launched, among other models. In 1987, the total number of cars produced doubled to 20 million.

1990s
In 1991, the Mazda 787B won the 24 Hours of Le Mans car race. This is the first "gold" medal for a Japanese-made car and the only win in history for a rotor car.
In 1992, the company adopted the Mazda Global Environmental Charter.
In 1994, the company was ISO 9002 certified. was the first Japanese car manufacturer to receive the certificate.
In 1996, the company was awarded the certificate for meeting the highest possible standards of ISO 9001. The company is still ahead of other Japanese brands.
In 1997, the current new logo appeared.
In 1999, half a millionth Mazda MX-5 car came off the assembly line.


2000s
In 2002, Zoom-Zoom was adopted as the basis of the brand.
In 2003, the first series of Mazda RX-8 car released. The RENESIS engine installed in the car won the title "Engine of the Year" in 2003-2004.
In 2004, the 25th anniversary of the partnership with Ford was celebrated.
